Persistence is a work for full orchestra that explores the emotional cycle of determination, struggle, collapse, and renewal. The opening establishes a sense of resolve, presenting musical ideas that reflect focus and forward motion. As the piece develops, a shifting ostinato emerges to symbolize the hardships of life, gradually building in intensity until it leads to a climactic crash and breakdown. In the second half, the music rebuilds and the ostinato returns, representing the reemergence of will and the strength to persist.
